Luke Mears Band

Hailing from foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Luke Mears brings a powerful voice and truly exceptional guitar skills that showcase a variety of techniques, including three-finger style elements gleaned from guitar greats such as Merle Travis, Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins. Luke has artfully melded those influences and others into his own interpretation to perform a range of music that touches on Blues, Country, R&B, Gospel and Rock and Roll along with a fine collection of original songs containing insight and wisdom that belie his years. Accompanying Mears on acoustic guitar, electric bass and vocals is Robert Holthouser – a noted storyteller and awarded songwriter in his own right – and Brady Reed, a young musical talent on drums as well as electric and doghouse bass. The men’s talents, voices and personalities span generations yet mesh wonderfully. The result is a show that ranges from heartfelt to humorous, performed by entertainers who are obviously happy in their work.
